Solid advice. I agree (and I’m a woman, in case you couldn’t tell by my name).

As a woman I agree with all of this. I'd absolutely love a post on what makes a woman attractive to men? Specifically women who say they want a relationship on dating apps - what shld they be saying instead?

I'll work on something to that effect--did you see my post on Girl Game 500: How to Get Married? There's some good advice in there on getting into a serious relationship. https://getbettersoon.substack.com/p/girl-game-500-how-to-get-married

I generally like your posts, but this one rubbed me the wrong way. Mainly the money/roommates part. The median US salary is $60k. You're basically saying that unless you're quite a bit better than average, you can't expect to find a partner. The roommates ties into this too. With that kind of salary it's a terrible financial decision to live by yourself.

I said the bar was higher. It’s not easy. But can you clear it? Yes! I mean I agree with you, but that’s what women expect. I’m not in the business of telling people what they want to believe.

But don't you see how this isn't really a long term solution? If every man started making 100k, the new standard would be 150k. It turns into a Red Queen's race, where you have to keep running faster and faster to stay in the same place. The same is true to a lesser extent with the other recommendations (fashion and fitness). When one side of the market expects above average, raising the average isn't actually going to help. That seems to be the fundamental problem here. Now of course most men aren't going to get themselves to that level, so it is good advice at the end of the day for individuals, but it doesn't actually solve the problem.

You’re over thinking it. Clear the bar and take care of yourself. Do what you can. Or maybe you just think I’m wrong. That’s fine. But arguing about it in the internet is completely useless.
